Ruth and I had met at a folk festival and decided we’d host our reception at the Saul Canal Festival paying our friends and family in and having a small tent for drinks. We thought it was a fine plan. Then the festival was cancelled the Monday before the Saturday we were due to wed as the canal had burst it’s banks and flooded the site. Spoilers- it all worked out but perhaps a drink is called for…
