381 – Weekend at William’s

After the traitorous murder of King Gruffydd,  Harold returned to England victorious… and as for Wales.  Well, their King had been assassinated and their lands were carved up between rival nobles who were subservient to England.

  1. I have been listening to the BHP for years (although at 81 I can’t remember how many. Ditto if I was a member before.) As we are approaching 1066, I thought that I would make a membership for sure. I’m an English colonial boy being born in the Dominion of Canada; so, 1066 has always been my favorite date in history. However, because of your extensive research and clear explanations in the BHP, I’ve learned how facile that has been. I’ve also come to realize that, to idolize any date of conquest is inhumane. The truth is often beyond our ken and comprehension.
Thanks for the BHP. As long as you keep broadcasting, I’ll keep listening, and I hope learning.
