I am going to make a podcast. It will involve warfare, dynastic struggles, daily life and even some saga's, even from Egil Skala Grimmson. Need sources, other than sagas. tell me what you'd like, and Jamie, I hope you can help me.

I'll happily listen!I won't be worth jack-all, though, with references.I'm working on my own podcast (that will probably never get off the ground, and is not really history related anyway) and can recommend Podcasting for Dummies.  It's helping me immensely.

HiI think what is important is balance.  A lot of evidence is showing that the attack on Linsifarn etc was possible a lot of propoganda from the old church.  I think it was Bead who wrote of the attacks many years after and of course he is not going to say anything good.  His aim of course was to strike fear in the flock of the non believers coming from Denmark etc in the dragon boats.  The old church never approved of any non christians and but have done all in their power to discredit them.  So for me, please remember that a lot of evidence is showing a lot of farming and co-existence between the British and the Vikings with farming, villages and inter-marriage - -they were more than just bloodthirsry warriors!Rich

I know, also one of the reasons I am doing this cause im sick of stero type of vikings with most of them being warriors. My sourses are mainly will be the life of Saint Olaf, life of Saint Bertin, and the Eastern Frankish Annuals, but didn't think of Bead. Hope you listen!

Being new to this podcast thing, I have to say I'm amazed and thrilled about all that is out there! I would love to listen to a Viking podcast. If you are looking for sources, you may hit some early Russian history. I know they and the Vikings go way back and they might be able to give you more details on them like trade goods and customs. Keep us posted!
