Hey all!  Just found the podcast this last week and immediately fell in love with it. I've gone through a third of the old episodes in just a few days.  A little about me and my love of history:  My mum is English and my dad's a Yank who was in the air force.  I was born in Lakenheath, but only got to live in England for a couple years before my dad was transferred back to the states.  I grew up in the south and only got to see my English family every few years.  I think this is why I have an obsession with Britain, I just want to know more about my own heritage.  I never cared about history though until high school.  Jamie's oral history approach reminds me of the teacher that awakened my love of history, because they both make it all about the story.  I've had the chance to return to England three times.  The first trip gave me the life altering opportunities to visit the Tower of London and Stonehenge.  Since then, I've loved the myriad stories of both these locations.  The other place of interest I always wanted to visit, Westminster Abbey, was closed on my first two tripsWith life and college and work, my love of history was put on the back burner.  Then my wife and I honeymooned in London, revisited the Tower, discovered some of the more obscure historical locations, and finally went through the doors of Westminster.  In the two years since that trip I have resumed my consumption of history wherever I can find it.  Currently, I'm working my way through The Oxford History of Britain and Chesterton's Short History of England.
