Greetings and Felicitations, One and All! I am happy to be an honest to goodness member of this great-fun podcast.  Hailing from the Golden State (Cali-forn-i-a), I studied English social and cultural history at the graduate level and now teach it and other things English, like writing, at one of the University of California campuses.  My period is high medieval to low Napoleonic, if you will.Am so enamored with that gently lit and storied isle that I married a Brit.  After I bubbled up from the liquification of that amazing posh-y accent I've been trying to get him to take me "home" to live. I've had enough of this infernal sunshine.  Thus far my so-bored with the burned-toast southwest argument has clashed center arena with the stiff upper lip resistance of his "frozen, wet" English argument.  We will continue to thrash this one out in the lists.    Great podcast, Jamie!  I am happy to be a part of the crew.  If I can be of service, please do not hesitate in inquiry.Regards,Linda

Well, it would certainly be helpful to chat about this material with a professor once I get to your area of study.  And as you might have noticed, I'm quite interested in cultural history.  :)Anyway, welcome to the forums!
