Just became a listener and am a huge fan already. I'm a lawyer most of the time, but I also own a microbrewery and teach a bit. Many of my classes have focused on the origins and development of the Anglo-American legal system. I've typically been interested in the development of the common law, but I take the perspective that its development was not and is not some form of universal good but was instead an expedient method for the savvier Angevin kings to consolidate power.I'm also particularly interested in culinary history, including the history of brewing and wine making.
Hi Brice, I'm impressed that you can teach and run a microbrew at the same time as being a lawyer. When I was practicing, I pretty much only had time for the endless treadmill of billable hours. ;)Welcome to the community!
