Greeting all, the name is Paton (like Peyton). Been an avid study of history for as long as I can recall in my life and started following in the footsteps of some elder cousins in genealogy in my early 20s. My father is mostly British (the full hodge podge of Scottish, Welsh, and English) with a sliver of Pre-Revolution German immigrant mixed in who married into those British families during the revolution and on down. Ummmm, something interesting, my given name is Paton which is Scottish but the name is not from the “traditional” Scottish Patons mostly originating in the outer Hebrides but from the Norman De Peyton families who stem from William Malet and landed in the Scottish lowlands after traipsing around Wales and Ireland with other Normans.

Found the pod about a year ago, thought it was one of the best history pods I’d ever come across, and been catching up as I drive or during spare time ever since; finally pulled the trigger on a membership this afternoon.
