    This is interesting, but I am not sure the genetic evidence is conclusive. Yes, it looks as though some genes derive from Basque ancestry, particularly for Wales, Scotland and Ireland. But the map at 2:16 in the video suggests an influence from Germanic origins. This is borne out by the map of pie charts of haplogroups at 1:42. The pie chart for England appears to resemble that of northeast France and the Low Countries more than that of the Basque region. So yes, there is a Basque influence, no doubt, but I don't think you can write off the influence of subsequent migration and invasion. And there is the archaeological evidence as well…
