Hi, my names Barry, from Southern England.  I've never really been a big forum user, so I may not tend to post much and stuff, but I thought I would at least post an introduction as I've joined.Started listening to the Podcast just over a week ago, and have really enjoyed the first thirty episodes.  They certainly make my train journey to work a little more enjoyable in the mornings.I've always been a big fan of history, but have always taken more of a generic overview of history and not really dug in too deeply in most areas.  My favorite period of British History is the late 800's, the years running from Aethelwulf to the coronation of Alfred the Great, and I've always had a desire to write a semi fictional novel set in this time period.  However it has been a work in progress for about ten years now and been completely deleted at least three or four times.Anyway, really looking forward to listening to the remaining 20 podcast episodes that I've not listened to yet, as well as all the future episodes.  I've made a couple of comments in the last few days over Facebook and Twitter, and to be honest tend to use those more than forums.

Hi Barry, just like yourself I really enjoy listening to the BHP as I go to work. I walk and it takes me about half an hour, which is just about the right time for an episode. I sets me up for a discussion but unfortunately no one I work with shares my like of history.

I've made a couple of comments in the last few days over Facebook and Twitter, and to be honest tend to use those more than forums.

I am the opposite as I never use twitter and generally dislike facebook preferring forums instead. I hope you find the impetus to write a comment here again soon.Welcome to the forum.
