Until recently I was doing lots of experiments in a laboratory for my PhD. There were lots of tedious jobs, like washing beakers and jars, weighing stuff out, babysitting reactors while they worked…I'd go mad without my podcasts! (In all seriousness, the guy who worked on this topic before me was actually sectioned just before he finished his PhD.)I started off on the History of Rome but 88 hours wasn't enough to get me through, and then I found the BHP. It kept me sane on many a late Saturday evening making two or three batches of low-carbon cement at a time! Jamie's also a bit more light-hearted than Mike, but both will get a thank you in the acknowledgements section of my thesis :D
