Storytelling is so very culture specific. We want a point, climax, moral, reason. . . many societies simply enjoy the storytelling itself and so don't mind much if there's a resolution. I guess I was caught in my own culture when listening.
This is so very true Carol, you got it spot on there. Half the fun is in the very essence of the storytelling and I actually find it quite refreshing when there are just a collection of random stories that don't actually have (or necessarily need) a specific meaning or moral footing. I don't think every story has to have a reason to be enjoyed....what does anyone else think about this? ???
