That was wild! I pretty much buy the illegitimacy story, although I'm trying to keep a healthy skepticism and think of how it could work out that Edward IV was premature. However that makes me wonder (as I'm a Tudor nut and love that period of history) if Henry Fitzroy could have succeeded to the throne at some point after Henry VIII's death if he himself had survived, seeing as he was illegitimate but was recognized by Henry VIII and I believe made his heir? I could be wrong on that last part as I'm getting most of what I know from the Showtime series, etc. If Fitzroy could/would have succeeded, then I'm not entirely sure that the premise on Edward IV makes any difference, as it would show that bastardy is not necessarily an all-encompassing bar to the succession.
