I have a suggestion: Medieval medicine and how it was practiced, talking about the mortality rates, childbirth, popular medical treatments both with the common people and the nobility. :)Also, perhaps what was known then, or thought to be known about how the human body works.

i think the four humours was the predominant theory for a long time as they still were using Galen's text in the 15th century; and he died in 200AD.this is a little later in our story but monks were eventually forbidden from practicing surgery but medicine was still OK.  hence, barbers took over, and we get the barber's pole.
