I happen to work for a company with a UK office and – don't ask me how – the internet thinks I am in the UK even though I'm not. This is nice, but not very useful (although I have, on occasion, stayed late to watch something. I didn't bill them of course.) For home I find that http://www.tunnelbear.com/ is nice and easy to use. You get 500 MB a month for free and for the "price" of a tweet they up it to 1 GB. That's enough for at least a couple of programs every month. Plus it has different location settings, so you can watch geoblocked US (and German and possibly other countries') content too.
