G'Day Willy K, I hope you had a great Xmas, I'm just doming my usual Boxing Day chill-out & thought I would catch-up on the BHP Forum.  Mmmm … my favourite period of British History, well that's a hard one, the periods of Roman Britain, the Dark Ages, Medieval period, the Reformation, the Civil War, Napoleonic Wars era, Victorian period, WWI & WWII all come up as favourites.  However, if I had to go on a desert island with a set of history books covering one period I think the Edwardian period with its conclusion in WWI, covering the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries is the most interesting – showing both the Empire at its perceived zenith and the aftermath of Versailles being the beginning of its decline, and sandwiched between these two was the pivotal role that Britain & the Empire had in winning the Great War.  I suppose it will be a few seasons before we get up to this period in the cast!Good question - do you have a favourite?
