I've often wondered about the british names from this period.  Most of the sources from this period are Roman, no?  So are the names Romanized versions.  Do we think names like Cartimandua or Cassivellaunus, which sound to my uneducated ear rather Latin, were their “real” names, or Romanized version or had the british begun adopting Latin names?  Same goes for the names of the tribes.  Trinovantes or Atrebates or Catuvellauni.  They sound Roman, but maybe I am wrong and they are not.  Just curious.Huw
