I'm not quite caught up on the podcast, so correct me if I'm wrong here, but I'm pretty sure that although the Angles and the Saxons were at one point different peoples, their cultures merged as time passed. At some point the two were indistinguishable, creating the necessity for the term Anglo-Saxon. As for the Jutes, it's not uncommon for a group to die out due to plague or conquest or what have you.Though, again, please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not entirely up on the podcast and I'm just making a logical guess.fake edit; I've just checked Wikipedia on the Jutes. The explanations they offer are that the Jutish territory was wholly assimilated by the Saxons, and they offer an interesting idea by Robin Bush that the Jutes were victims of ethnic cleansing by the West Saxons. That aside, welcome to the forums!
