236 – A Return to Scholarship

"I can not find anything better in man, than that he know, and nothing worse than that he be ignorant."

That’s a quote from Alfred, and I think it’s my favorite quote. The nice thing about Alfred is that he’s a man for all seasons. There’s something in his reign for everyone. He’s got an excellent comeback story. He’s goes through a sort of Che Guevara phase. He’s got a period where he’s riding around with a cavalry strike force like King Arthur. He’s got a pious side. A scholarly side. A horny side. He has a keen mind for politics, for manipulation, and for tactics. Whatever your need… there’s an Alfred for that.

Enjoy your podcast. Started from episode one a few weeks ago and am now at 169 – The Rise of Wessex. Noted that your podcasts do not continue past episode 226 – Alfred and Legitimacy posted in December 2016. Does the series end here, or will it continue to WWII as previously stated?

Hey Kerry, it goes far beyond 226. For example, the episode you’re commenting on is 236. It sounds like you might have an issue with your app and you need to reconnect to the feed. Have you contacted your app’s tech support?

    Hi Jamie,

Thanks for the feedback. Problem fixed.

BTW, noted a recurring song by male chorus for your Welshcast. Same song sung at the end of an old James Mason movie, Journey to the Center of the Earth.
Can you tell me the name of that song?

Thanks and have a great evening.

    Best Regards,
    Kerry
