195 – Red Sea Rising

Today's episode will focus upon the goings on in Britain for King AEthelberht, AEthelred, and Alfred. We will also cover what has been happening up in Northumbria... and predictably, it involves a lot of civil war.

We will also have a quick discussion about stats, because why not?

(History of Britain, History of England, History of Wessex, Vikings)

Your voice is really wonderful, I’m wondering, how you can speak in this way ? Has your podcast any transcript?

Thanks! It’s the result of a lot of practice (and a bit of editing). Transcripts are made available to paying members as part of my way of saying “thank you for supporting the project.”

Really enjoying the story, have listened from the start and just caught up, I’m excited about the upcoming heathen army episodes.

PS I love the fact that Judith is a distant relation to our current royal family, good genes. Thanks.

Could you tell me how to spell the guy that may have appeared in Northumbria in this episode? I’d like to look more of that up but can’t tell if it’s something like Alice, Allas, Alah, etc. Thanks!

Do you mean AElle of Northumbria?

Yes, that guy. Thanks! See, I would have never guessed the spelling correctly. And my current cold may be making my hearing a little iffy as well. :)
